“Iniciativas como este festival permite inculcar valores”

En el marco de las actividades del FICAIJ 2012, conversamos con Gema Izaguirre, quien asumió el rol de jurado en el festival para las retrospectivas juveniles y para cine hecho para niños.

Izaguirre es periodista y experta en cine; en estos momentos forma parte del Observatorio de Contenidos Televisivos y Audiovisuales, y nos comentó que “desde esta plataforma tratamos de promover y proteger el derecho de la infancia ante los contenidos audiovisuales que se producen en España en cine, televisión e intenet; además creamos debates, mediante congresos y damos formación a profesores y niños a la hora de saber valorar y como ser críticos u objetivos ante medios audiovisuales”, señaló sobre su experiencia.

-¿Cómo fue el trabajo como jurado? ¿Qué valores se impusieron? 

-Vi mucha producción, algunos trabajos interesantes, como suele ser normal, y otros más limitados debido a las posibilidades de cada participante, pero bastante interesante en cuanto a técnicas de producción y temática.

-En el país no hay muchas iniciativas de este tipo dirigidas hacia la infancia, ¿cuál es tu opinión con respecto al festival? 

-Iniciativas como este festival me parecen interesantes, porque es una forma de educar e inculcar valores a niños y adolescentes; sobretodo en un tipo de cine que invade pantallas como el norteamericano y que se aleja mucho de la realidad, tanto de Venezuela, como del resto de los países de habla latina.
Es una gran oportunidad y me parece lindo que los niños vean las producciones y el gran interés y entusiasmo que están mostrando.

-¿Cuál es la realidad en España? 

-En España, de producción infantil no hay muchos trabajos. Hay unos que destacan a nivel nacional e internacional en animación pero la producción no es abundante, no hay mucha subvención, y ahora con la crisis que se está viviendo en el país y en toda Europa, se han recortado, no se presta demasiado interés a la producción infantil y juvenil de películas.

Gema Izaguirre: Initiatives like FICAIJ allow to inculcate values.

In the framework of the activities of FICAIJ 2012, we talked to  Gema Izaguirre, who was part of the jury in the festival for young restrospectives and cinema for children.

Izaguirre is a journalist and expert on cinema, and currently is part of Observatorio de Contenidos Televisivos y Audiovisuales.  She commented  that “ from this platform, we try to promote and protect the right of the childhood from audiovisual contents that are produced in Spain in cinema, television and the Internet. Besides, we create debates through congresses and give training to teachers and children so they can assess, be critic and objectives towards audiovisual media”

-How was the work of the jury? What criteria did you use? 

I watched a lot of productions. Some works were very interesting and some others were limited because of the posibilities of each participant. However, they all were very interesting regarding production techniques and themes.
-In this country, there are not many iniciatives of this kind aiming to the childhood. What is your opinion towards this festival?

  

I think that iniciatives like this one are very interesting because is a way to educate and inculcate values to children and teenagers, especially because of the kind of films that invades our screens, particularly the american one that is very far from the Venezuelan and Latin-american countries reality.. It is a great opportunity that these children can watch the productions and the great interest and enthusiasm they are showing towards this.

-What´s the realty in Spain? 
In Spain, there are not many works related to child production. There are some   animation works  that stand out in a national and  international level. However, the production is not abundant. There is not much subsidy, and now with the crisis that we are getting through, it has been cutted , having as a consequence the disinterest towards the child and youth movies  production.
