La Asociación Civil Grupo de Artes Escénicas y Audiovisuales Expresión Ixoye nace en Mérida, Venezuela, en diciembre de 2001, de la mano de jóvenes talentosos y comprometidos con el desarrollo cultural y artístico de su región y el país:

Carlos Céspedes

Profesional multidisciplinario en Medios Audiovisuales, Artes Escénicas e Idiomas Modernos, con experiencia en producción audiovisual, gestión cultural, organización de eventos, liderazgo y administración de recursos humanos en Venezuela, Colombia y Panamá. También ha participado en espacios culturales en Brasil, Cuba, España e Italia. Se ha desempeñado además como educador especializado en temas de medios e infancia y adolescencia.

Wulliams Castellano

Cuenta hoy con 19 años de experiencia en el ámbito de la actuación. Desde el año 2006 ha tenido un alto compromiso al instruirse y desempeñarse como coordinador y productor de diferentes expresiones artísticas (teatro, cine, eventos, festivales, entre otros). Como muestra de su trabajo cultural y artístico, ha sido nominado en diferentes premios nacionales. Las condecoraciones como activista político, cultor y estudiante dan muestra del trabajo investigativo, formativo, comunicacional, cultural y social que ha realizado a nivel nacional. Por otra parte, ha representado a Venezuela en el exterior (España y Cuba) como jurado y participante internacional. En la actualidad, se desempeña como Coordinador de Promoción y Gestión Patrimonial y Cultural en la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Caracas) y es socio de la reconocida productora teatral CyT Producciones.

En el año 2014 comienza sus estudios en Gestión Cultural, así como también, en el 2016 en el manejo de las Redes Sociales y el Marketing Digital, realizando cursos y talleres vía online y presencial en diferentes estados de Venezuela.

Jackeline Céspedes

Egresa de la Universidad de Los Andes-Mérida, Escuela de Artes Escénicas en el año 2013, con el título de Licenciada en Actuación y grado de Magna Cum Lauden. Actualmente cursa estudios en la maestría en Etnología, Mención Etnohistoria de la Universidad de Los Andes- Mérida. En el 2012 recibe clases del Maestro Ricardo Camacho y cumple con la labor de Asistente de producción del Teatro Libre de Bogotá-Colombia. Desde el 2003 se desempeña como Actriz, Tallerista, Productora y Fotógrafa de la Asociación Civil Grupo de Artes Escénicas y Audiovisuales Expresión Ixoye. Directora General del Festival Internacional de Cine y Audiovisual Infantil y Juvenil- Mérida (VI FICAIJ-2016). En el 2013 realizó labor de docente en el Colegio La Salle-Mérida, como especialista en el Área Teatral.

Entre 2009 y 2010, se unen al Equipo otras dos jóvenes visionarias y creativas que conforman finalmente el grupo de Fundadores del ahora Festival Audiovisual Infantil y Juvenil (Conocido por sus siglas como FICAIJ y que llegará en 2019 a su décima edición), con alcance nacional e internacional:  

Mayelin Parra

Vive en la ciudad de Mérida, Venezuela. Estudiante de la Escuela de Artes Escénicas en la Universidad de los Andes, culminando el 5to año de la Licenciatura en Actuación. Estudiante del Programa Académico Interdisciplinario (PAI). Actriz en cortos realizados por estudiantes de Medios Audiovisuales de la Universidad de los Andes. Escritora de guiones de cine y teatro, algunos en producción. Integrante de la Fundación Arverdei como Actriz. Integrante de la agrupación Expresión Ixoye como Actriz y Directora del Festival Internacional de Cine y Audiovisual Infantil y Juvenil (FICAIJ).

Elizabeth Santander

Docente graduada de la Universidad de los Andes en San Cristóbal, Venezuela. Lic. en Artes Escénicas de la Universidad de los Andes en Mérida, Venezuela. Fue parte de la Unidad de Capacitación y Formación Cinematográfica de la Fundación Villa del Cine en Caracas, Venezuela. 

Finalmente, guiada por Carlos Céspedes, Mayelin Parra y Jackeline Céspedes, nace en 2013 la Escuela Audiovisual Infantil y Juvenil (Conocida por sus siglas como ECAIJ) con la que se han desarrollado a nivel regional y nacional decenas de jornadas de formación audiovisual dirigidas a niños, adolescentes y jóvenes.

The Asociación Civil Grupo de Artes Escénicas y Audiovisuales Expresión Ixoye was born in Mérida, Venezuela, in December 2001, by the hand of talented young people who were committed to the cultural and artistic development of their region and  country:

Carlos Céspedes
Multidisciplinary professional in Audiovisual Media, Performing Arts and Modern Languages, with experience in audiovisual production, cultural management, event organization, leadership and administration of human resources in Venezuela, Colombia and Panama. He has also participated in cultural events in Brazil, Cuba, Spain and Italy. He has worked as an educator specialized in media, as well as in childhood and adolecense  issues. 


Wulliams Castellano
He has 19 years of experience in the acting field. Since 2006 he has had a high commitment to be educated and to act as coordinator and producer of different artistic expressions (theater, cinema, events, festivals, among others). As a sample of his cultural and artistic work, he has been nominated in different national awards. The decorations as a political activist, artist and student show the research work, training, communication, cultural and social work that he has been done at a national level. On the other hand, he has represented Venezuela abroad (Spain and Cuba) as a jury, and as an international participant. Currently, he is Coordinator of Patrimonial and Cultural Promotion and Management at The Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Caracas) and is a partner of the renowned theater production company: CyT Producciones.

In 2014 he began his studies in Cultural Management, as well as in 2016 in the Management of Social Networks and Digital Marketing, participating in different courses and workshops online and on-site courses in several states of Venezuela.

Jackeline Céspedes
She received a bachelor's degree, magna cum lauden, in Performing Arts; graduated from The University of the Andes-Mérida, School of Performing Arts in 2013. She is currently studying at the Master's in Ethnology, Ethnohistorical Mention at The University of the Andes-Mérida. In 2012, she received classes from Maestro Ricardo Camacho and completed the work of Production Assistant of the Teatro Libre de Bogotá-Colombia. Since 2003, she has worked as an Actress, Facilitator, Producer and Photographer of the Asociación Civil Grupo de Artes Escénicas y Audiovisuales Expresión Ixoye. General Director of the Festival Internacional de Cine y Audiovisual Infantil y Juvenil- Mérida (VI FICAIJ-2016). In 2013 she worked as a teacher at the La Salle-Mérida School, as a specialist in the Theater Area.

Between 2009 and 2010, two other visionary and creative young people joined the team that finally made up the group of Founders of the now Festival Audiovisual Infantil y Juvenil (Known by its acronym as FICAIJ and which will make it to its tenth edition in 2019), with a national and international scope:


Mayelin Parra
She lives in Mérida city, Venezuela. She is a student of the School of Performing Arts at The University of the Andes, culminating the 5th year of the Bachelor of Performing Arts. She is a student of the Interdisciplinary Academic Program (PAI). She has participated as an actress in shorts made by students of Audiovisual Media of The University of the Andes. She is aldo the writer of film and theater scripts, some in the production process. She is member of the Arverdei Foundation as an Actress, and of the A.C. Expresión Ixoye as an Actress and Director of the Festival Audiovisual Infantil y Juvenil (FICAIJ).


Elizabeth Santander

Professor graduated from The University of the Andes - San Cristóbal. Bachelor in Performing Arts from The University of the Andes - Mérida. She was part of the Cinematographic Training Unit of the Villa del Cine Foundation in Caracas, Venezuela.


Finally, guided by Carlos Céspedes, Mayelin Parra and Jackeline Céspedes, in 2001 is born The Escuela Audiovisual Infantil y Juvenil (known by its acronym as ECAIJ), which has developed regionally and nationally dozens of audiovisual workshops aimed at children, teenagers and young people
