Continuó Jornada FICAIJ en Escuela Básica "Vicente Dávila"

FICAIJ realizó un concurso de cuentos entre los alumnos de 6to grado de la Escuela Básica “Vicente Dávila”, secciones D, E y F, con la intención de adaptar los que resultasen ganadores a guiones audiovisuales para ser realizados por los mismos alumnos. Se obtuvieron tres cuentos por cada sección de entre los cuales se escogió uno, resultando ganadores tres cuentos en total. Dichos cuentos se titularon “La isla de los sentimientos”, “El sueño de Lucas” y “Los seis amigos”.

La jornada se desarrolló durante los días 21, 22 y 23 de enero del presente año, con la intención de estimular en los niños la imaginación y creatividad mediante la realización de un cortometraje, poniendo en práctica conocimientos acerca del lenguaje y la producción audiovisual.

El primer día se procedió a la presentación de una muestra audiovisual como introducción para luego involucrar a los niños con todo lo concerniente al lenguaje audiovisual. Luego se realizó la adaptación de los cuentos ganadores a guiones para así poder designar entre los niños los roles, tanto de los actores como del personal técnico (director, productor, camarógrafo, arte y asistentes).

En el segundo día se prosiguió con la escritura de los guiones, así como también se comenzaron los ensayos y la preparación de la escenografía, utilería, vestuario, maquillaje y revisión teórica. Al final de este día, quedó tiempo incluso para iniciar el rodaje, ¡tan esperado por los niños!

Por último, en el tercer día, los niños estuvieron muy emocionados por poner en marcha el rodaje de sus propios cuentos adaptados, y de poner en práctica todo el conocimiento previo que habían recibido acerca de sus roles y, en general, de la producción audiovisual. Los chicos se sintieron muy complacidos de poder desempeñar nuevos roles e involucrarse en este tipo de proyectos ya que es una manera diferente de aprender y proyectar sus pensamientos, emociones e ideas mediante un trabajo poco convencional en escuelas pero muy beneficioso para el desarrollo creativo de los niños.

Además de aprender y divertirse, los niños se involucraron con el mundo del cine y explotaron sus talentos creativos. Incluso algunos niños manifestaron su deseo de seguir rodando cortometrajes durante todo el año. Por otra parte, los docentes de la institución manifestaron su satisfacción y gratitud ya que veían esta actividad como una maravillosa oportunidad para que los niños desarrollaran la creatividad, así como también la lectura, la escritura, el liderazgo, la unión, el compromiso, la responsabilidad y la motivación. Además, las docentes también estuvieron muy contentas con los mensajes de amistad y de solidaridad que los cuentos y guiones expresaron.

En general, tanto alumnos como docentes quedaron muy satisfechos porque a pesar de ser la primera experiencia de este tipo en la institución se sintieron muy motivados y con muchas expectativas acerca del mundo del cine. En efecto, sugirieron exhortar a todos los entes interesados a que contribuyesen en la promoción de este tipo de encuentros en todas las escuelas para así impulsar nuevas vocaciones, talentos y habilidades ya que aprecian esta actividad como una fuente para explotar la creatividad.

Audiovisual session in “Vicente Dávila” primary school

Us in FICAIJ we made a short stories competition among the students of the 6^th grade from “Vicente Dávila” primary school (sections D, E and F.) The purpose of this competition was to make film adaptatios of the short stories and convert them into screen plays. These screen plays were made to be also performed by the students. We have gotten three short stories for each section and we chose one for each one of them making a total of three. The short stories’ titles were “La isla de los sentimientos” (The island of feelings), “El sueño de Lucas” (Lucas’ dream) and “Los seis amigos” (Six friends.)

The session took place on January 21^st, 22^nd and 23^rd this year. Its intention was to stimulate imagination and creativity in children by making a short film and using the audiovisual production and language knowledge they have acquired.

On the first day, the first thing to do was to present a little audiovisual exhibition as an introduction to estimulate children in all that concerns to audiovisual language. Then we made the film adaptation of the winning short stories into screen plays to asign children their roles as actors and crew (director, producer, photographer and assistants.)

On day two we proceeded writting the screen plays, starting the rehearsal and preparing the setting, dressing, make up and theoretical review. At the end of the day, we had also enough time to start the shooting, which children could not wait longer!

At last, on the third day, children were very excited about shooting their own stories adapted to screen plays and using all the previous knowledge they had learnt about their roles and, in general, about the audiovisual production.

Children felt very proud and pleased because they were able to perform new roles and because of getting involved in this kind of project. They conceived this activity as a new way to learn and express their thoughts, emotions and ideas through this unconventional, yet very useful tool for schools regarding the creative development of children.

Moreover, they did not just learn and have fun but also got involved within the film world and took advantage of their creative talents. There even were children that expressed their wishes of continuing shooting short films all year long.

On the other hand, teachers from the institution show their satisfaction because they conceived this activity as a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop their own creativity as well as promoting their reading and writing skills, leadership, commitment, responsibility, union and motivation. Furthermore, they were very pleased with the friendship and solidarity messages that the performed stories had.

In general, students as much as teachers were very satisfied because in despite of the new experience (made for the first time in this school) they felt very motivated and they had many expectations about the filming world. In effect, they suggested exhorting the governing entities to promote these kinds of events to every school in the state in order to impulse new talents, skills and vocations because they thought this activity as an authentic source to work on creativity.
